Le peintre réaliste du « western art » américain John Buxton naît en 1939 à Oxford, en Caroline du nord. Il est diplômé de l’université d’État et du Art Center College of Design de Californie. Sa carrière d’illustrateur débute à Détroit, puis à Cleveland et chez Pitt Studios de Pittsburgh où il épouse la réceptionniste. Ils ont 2 enfants, Bryan et Megan. Ses 31 ans en tant qu’illustrateur évoluent avec succès. Ses scènes de peinture s’inspirent du 18e siècle aux USA lors de la découverte des nouvelles frontières du "Nouveau Monde » et de la création d’une nouvelle nation. Ses œuvres de 55 années de carrière décrivent le moment où l'Occident ne s'était pas encore étendu au-delà de la chaîne de montagnes orientale ou du fleuve Mississippi.
The realist American western art painter John Buxton was born in 1939 in Oxford, North Carolina. He is a graduate of the State University and of the Art Center College of Design of California. His career of illustrator began in Detroit, then in Cleveland and at Pitt Studios in Pittsburgh where he married the receptionist. They have 2 children, Bryan and Megan. His 31 years as an illustrator evolved successfully. His painting scenes are inspired by the 18th century in the USA at the moment of the discovery of the new frontiers of the "New World" and the creation of a new nation. His works of his 55 years career describes the moment when the West had not yet spread beyond the eastern mountain range or the Mississippi River.
