Le peintre américain John Salminen nait à St-Paul au Minnesota en 1945. Suite à ses études primaires et secondaires, il entre à l’université du Minnesota et obtient ses diplômes de Master Fine Arts et Bachelor Fine Arts. Dès le début de sa carrière, il est reconnu dans le monde pour sa maîtrise du médium aquarelle transparent. Il reçoit plus de 250 prix et la médaille d'or de l'American Watercolour Society en 2006 et 2010. Il participe à plus de 30 expositions internationales. Son travail se retrouve dans de nombreuses collections à travers le monde, y compris le Musée asiatique de l'art de l'aquarelle de Chine.

The American painter John Salminen was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1945. Following his elementary and secondary studies, he entered the University of Minnesota where he obtained his Master in Fine Arts and Bachelor in Fine Arts degrees. From the start of his career, he was quickly recognized around the world for his mastery of transparent watercolor medium. He received more than 250 awards and the gold medal from the American Watercolor Society in 2006 and 2010. He exhibited in more than 30 international exhibitions. His work can be found in many collections around the world, including the Asian Museum of Watercolor Art of China.
