Le peintre français Roland Gaudillière naît à Besançon en 1931. Après ses études chez les Jésuites à Dole, il est, à 20 ans, aux Beaux Arts de Besançon et à l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs à Paris. En 1955, il tient sa 1ière exposition à Menton et fait son service militaire en Algérie. Peintre du terroir, Il fait revivre sa « Franche Comté ». Il voyage en Chine, Inde, Russie, Thaïlande, Bornéo, Venise et aime les Flandres belges. Son œil, véritable appareil photo, en fait un peintre figuratif. « Le sujet d’un tableau n’est qu’un alibi, je travaille comme un peintre abstrait, à partir d’un sujet concret ». Dans son atelier, il ferme les volets, ne s’éclaire qu’à la lumière électrique et réfléchit à la composition de la toile en recherchant un équilibre. Il meurt le 15 novembre 1998.

The French painter Roland Gaudillière was born in Besançon in 1931. After studying with the Jesuits in Dole, he was 20 years old at the Beaux Arts in Besançon and at the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. In 1955, he held his first exhibition in Menton and did his military service in Algeria. Painter of the soil, he revives his "Franche Comté". He travels to China, India, Russia, Thailand, Borneo, Venice and loves Belgian Flanders. His eye, a real camera, makes him a figurative painter. "The subject of a painting is only an alibi, I work as an abstract painter, starting from a concrete subject".
