Le peintre roumain Adrian Ghenie, naît le 13 août 1977 à Baia Mare. Fils de dentiste, il étudie à l'école d'arts et métiers de Baia Mare de 1991 et 1994 et est diplômé en art et design à l'université d'Art et Design de Cluj-Napoca en 2001. En 2005, il cofonde plan Galeria B à Cluj, avec Mihai Pop, une espace de production et d'exposition d'art contemporain. En 2008, le plan B ouvre un nouvel espace d'exposition permanente à Berlin. Depuis 2006, son travail a été largement présenté dans des expos collectives et individuelles, dont à la galerie Tate Liverpool, à Denver en 2012 et New-York en 2013. Il représente à la Roumanie à la 56e Biennale de Venise en 2015. The Romanian painter Adrian Ghenie, was born on August 13, 1977 in Baia Mare. Son of dentist, he studied at the School of Arts and Crafts of Baia Mare from 1991 and 1994 and graduated in Art and Design at the University of Art and Design of Cluj-Napoca in 2001. In 2005, he co-founded plan Galeria B in Cluj, with Mihai Pop, a production and exhibition space for contemporary art. In 2008, Plan B opens a new permanent exhibition space in Berlin. Since 2006, his work has been widely presented in collective and individual exhibitions, including at Tate Liverpool gallery, Denver in 2012 and New York in 2013. He represented Romania at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015.
