(English version follows) Le peintre canadien Marc Séguin est né à Ottawa, Ontario, en 1970. Diplômé en arts visuels de l’Université Concordia de Montréal, Séguin est une étoile montante au firmament de la peinture canadienne. Ses expositions au Musée d’art contemporain et au Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal ont confirmé la notoriété de ce jeune artiste qui attire la faveur de nombreux collectionneurs publics et privés non seulement au Canada mais aussi à l’étranger. En plus d’être un peintre prolifique, l’artiste exploite la gravure à l’eau-forte et à la manière noire. Marc Séguin a installé son atelier à New York depuis novembre 2007. Il est aussi écrivain et romancier. Il publie son premier roman, La Foi du braconnier, en 2009, qui remporte le Prix littéraire des collégiens l'année suivante. Il a obtenu le prix artistique québécois Pierre-Ayot qui vise à souligner la qualité de la production des artistes de 35 ans et moins. ----- Canadian painter Marc Séguin was born in Ottawa, Ontario, in 1970. A visual arts graduate from Concordia University in Montreal, Séguin is a rising star in the firmament of Canadian painting. His exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts have confirmed the notoriety of this young artist who has attracted the favor of many public and private collectors not only in Canada but also abroad. In addition to being a prolific painter, the artist exploits etching and mezzotint. Marc Séguin has set up his studio in New York since November 2007. He is also a writer and novelist. He published his first novel, La Foi du braconnier, in 2009, which won the Middle School Literary Prize the following year. He was awarded the Pierre-Ayot Quebec Artistic Prize, which aims to highlight the quality of the production of artists aged 35 and under.
