(English version follows) Le peintre des Maritimes canadiennes Adam Young est connu pour ses représentations fantaisistes et colorées de Terre-Neuve. Né à Halifax, en Nouvelle-Écosse, il grandit à Moncton, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Il obtient son bac en Beaux Arts à l'Université Mount Allison au NB, et complète ses études aux universités de Moncton et de St.John. Il commence sa carrière comme illustrateur puis devient peintre à sa 1ère visite à Terre-Neuve en 2005. L'inspiration pour le travail d'Adam vient de la beauté austère du paysage, de l'architecture du milieu et de la chaleur des gens qui y vivent. La pêche, la petite maison de poche est un thème commun de ses peintures. Ses petites cabanes colorées se balancent sur le littoral de l’Atlantique Nord. Adam vit sur l'île Fogo, à Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, avec sa femme Jennifer, leurs filles et le chien depuis 2008. ----- Canadian Maritime painter Adam Young is known for his whimsical and colorful representations of Newfoundland. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he grew up in Moncton, New Brunswick. He graduated in Fine Arts from Mount Allison University in NB, and completed his studies at the Universities of Moncton and St. John. He began his career as an illustrator, then became a painter on his first visit to Newfoundland in 2005. The inspiration for Adam's work came from the austere beauty of the landscape, the architecture of the environment and the warmth of the people who lived there. Fishing, the salt box house is a common theme in his paintings. His small, colorful huts sway on the North Atlantic coast. Adam lives on Fogo Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, with his wife Jennifer, their daughters and the dog since 2008.
