JACQUES LEVEILLE
Le peintre figuratif québécois Jacques Léveillé naît en 1945. Il étudie aux Arts Graphiques de Montréal. En 1968, il entre à Radio-Québec où il réalise le symbole graphique d’identification de la station et des décors audacieux. Il est aussi illustrateur et concepteur-graphiste aux Éditions Leméac où il réalise 300 couvertures de livres. En 1988, il tient sa 1ère exposition solo à Montréal, puis c’est New York, Paris (Grand Palais), Ottawa et Toronto. Il est sélectionné lors de concours internationaux de 1993, 1994 et 1997. En 1999, avec une bourse du Conseil des Arts du Canada, il expose en solo à la galerie de l’Ambassade du Canada à Tokyo. En 2004, il remporte le Grand prix au 37e concours organisé par la Society of Canadian Artists. Il est membre de la Royal Canadian Academy.

Quebec figurative painter Jacques Léveillé was born in 1945. He studied at the Graphic Arts of Montreal. In 1968, he joined Radio-Québec where he created the station's graphic identification symbol and daring sets. He acts also as an illustrator and graphic designer at Éditions Leméac where he produces 300 book covers. In 1988, he held his first solo exhibition in Montreal, then in New York, Paris (Grand Palais), Ottawa and Toronto. He was selected at international competitions in 1993, 1994 and 1997. In 1999, with a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, he exhibited solo at the gallery of the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo. In 2004, he won the Grand Prize at the 37th competition organized by the Society of Canadian Artists. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy.
