Le peintre Danois Ole Ring est né le 6 août 1902. Il appartient à une famille d'artistes danois: son père, Laurits Andersen Ring (1854–1933), était peintre, et sa mère, Sigrid Andersen, née Kähler (1874–1923) , était céramiste. Le frère Herman Anders Ring était forgeron, la sœur Ghita Johanne (1899–1948), mariée au sculpteur et peintre Hans Hempel (1888–1963), était également peintre. Ole Ring a reçu son éducation de son père, l'un des derniers représentants de la peinture de paysage dans la tradition de «l'âge d'or de la peinture» danoise du 19ème siècle. Ole Ring a voyagé en Autriche en 1921 et en France en 1925. Jusqu'en 1929, il a travaillé à Roskilde, 1930 à 1934 à Køge, 1934 à 1939 à Copenhague, 1939 à 1946 à Præstø puis à Ringsted. Son premier mariage fut Christence Vinther Pedersen en 1927; il divorça en 1935. Puis, il épousa la fille du peintre Grete Fuglsang Østed (* 1906) à Køge en 1935. En 1972, il se suicida à Køge et y fut enterré dans une fosse collective.

Danish painter Ole Ring was born August 6, 1902. He belongs to a family of Danish artists: his father, Laurits Andersen Ring (1854–1933), was a painter, and his mother, Sigrid Andersen, née Kähler (1874–1923) )), was a ceramist. Brother Herman Anders Ring was a blacksmith, Sister Ghita Johanne (1899–1948), married to sculptor and painter Hans Hempel (1888–1963), was also a painter. Ole Ring received his education from his father, one of the last representatives of landscape painting in the tradition of the golden age of 19th century Danish painting.Ole Ring traveled to Austria in 1921 and to France in 1925. Until 1929 he worked in Roskilde, 1930 to 1934 in Køge, 1934 to 1939 in Copenhagen, 1939 to 1946 in Præstø then in Ringsted. Her first marriage was Christence Vinther Pedersen in 1927; he divorced in 1935. Then he married the daughter of the painter Grete Fuglsang Østed (* 1906) in Køge in 1935. In 1972 he committed suicide in Køge and was buried there in a mass grave.
