JENS FERDINAND WILLUMSEN
Le peintre expressionniste danois Jens Ferdinand Willumsen est né à Copenhague le 7 Septembre 1863. Il croyait que le sculpteur Jens Adolf Jerichau était son vrai père. Il se marie deux fois. Son premier mariage, à Juliette Meyer, lui donne deux fils, Jan et Bode. Juliette est aussi un modèle pour lui. En 1903, il marie la sculpteur Edith Wessel avec qui il a deux filles, Gersemi et Anse. Edith apparaît dans ses œuvres, notamment dans Alpina. Ses deux filles apparaissent aussi dans certains travaux. Il a passé sa vieillesse avec la danseuse française et peintre Michelle Bourret. Toutes ses femmes artistes l'ont soutenu dans son travail. Il a vécu près de la moitié de sa vie en France et est mort à Cannes en 1958.

The Danish painter Jens Ferdinand Willumsen was born in Copenhagen on September 7, 1863. He believed that the sculptor Jens Adolf Jerichau was his real father. He married twice. His first marriage, to Juliette Meyer, gave him two sons, Jan and Bode. Juliette was also a model for Willumsen. In 1903, he married the sculptor Edith Wessel with whom he had two daughters, Gersemi and Anse. Edith appears in the artist's works, notably in Alpina. His two daughters also appear in certain works. He spent his old age in the company of the French dancer and painter Michelle Bourret. All of his wives were artists and supported him in his work. He lived almost half his life in France and died in Cannes in 1958.
